If you are waiting for juicy details, I will have to break the news that we keep our Blog PG-13. Courting is done at the women families’ house. The couple is not allowed to be alone at anytime. They must be in view and within ear shout. Many times a grandmother or aunt may actually sit with couple to chaperone. Yes, most of the time sitting right between them. The families are trying to make it impossible for couple to have any physical contact. When courting, couples are not allow to do any kissing or necking as Amish feel that is a sure way to launch one down a slippery slope of sensual lust which leads inexorably to guilt, shame and remorse. It is even thought by some that two or three hours together of talking every second week during the courting period is sufficient time together. #AllAboutAmish by #MissouriAmish Comments are closed.
