The differences are slight between different Amish groups. Many of the communities that live near each other follow the same or nearly the same Ordnung (church rules). All of the rules for each district are governed by that district’s bishop and ministers.

When traveling from one district to another you may notice that the women’s prayer coverings, style of hats that the men wear, types of suspenders for the men’s trousers, and sometimes the shapes & colors of their buggies may differ slightly. Sometimes you would have to look very closely to notice any difference and many times there may not be one if you are comparing the community to another community that is not too far away.
